Photo of new Portland Timbers training field

The Portland Timbers were nice enough to send along some pretty photos of their new adidas training center.

And I appreciated them – even if they were ginormous files that made my laptop cry. Thing is, as each one downloaded slooooowlllly, I said the same thing: “Another one of the interior? No. Show me the darn field.”

Soccer fields, resplendent in sparkly green, cut just so and lovingly lined with the distinctive markings of our game – that’s what makes my soccer shorts go crazy.

Finally! One of them was of the Timbers new practice field. Ah!

Why, that’s Kentucky bluegrass I believe, possibly with some ryegrass blended in. I know my fields.

(Disclaimer: I know most people will NOT be so excited about an empty soccer field; what can I say?)
