Lyon, Frankfurt set for final – UEFA Women’s Champions League highlights

Getty Images The favorites advanced from this weekend’s semifinals, setting the stage for May 17th’s UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Munich.
Defending champions Olympique Lyonnais, who went into Sunday’s second leg in Potsdam with a 5-1 lead, played out a 0-0 draw, eliminating 2009-10 champions (and Frauen Bundesliga-leading) Turbine.
They’ll play three-time champions FFC Frankfurt (otherwise known as USWNT standout Ali Krieger’s place of recovery), who finished their elimination of Arsenal with a 2-0 home win on Saturday, seeing out the Lady Gunners with a 4-1 aggregate victory.
As holders and steamrollers of one of last year’s finalists, Lyon will be favored in Munich despite Frankfurt’s home country advantage. If OL truly has a case to be made as the best women’s teams we’ve seen, they have a show to put on next month.
