Writing for Forbes, Bobby McMahon reminds us that Ferguson wasn’t born into the Manchester United position (even if it seems that way.) His journey to Old Trafford was shaped through failures as well as successes – the same way most of us have success and failures in life.
McMahon also says Ferguson was a pretty decent player in his day.
The lengthy piece finishes with something that might be called the “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Managers, Sir Alex Ferguson Version.” Like this one:
He has a hunger for knowledge. It has not only kept him relevant to a sport and a business that has changed beyond recognition but has kept him at the top.
