Late goals turn the deal in San Jose, Vancouver and New England

Getty Images Late goals made the difference Saturday in full night of seven MLS matches.
In San Jose, a late strike from Alan Gordon turned a potentially huge three points for battered Columbus into a somewhat disappointing tie. San Jose won’t feel great about the 1-1 draw at home, but heading into this week’s match at the Galaxy with a draw is better than going south with a loss.
In Vancouver, visiting Seattle turned up with a late goal to rescue a point. Fredy Montero’s special goal turned the deal in a 2-2 draw at B.C. Place.
Both of those were in the 90th minute.
Houston didn’t leave it quite as late, closing out a busy, busy stretch with a 2-2 draw at New England. Luis Camargo’s equalizer in the waning moments came in the 87th minute.
Revs manager Jay Heaps can’t be pleased about conceding a late lead at home. Nor is his happy about his team continued inability to defend set pieces; the Dynamo’s first was off a Brad David free kick delivered into just the right spot, which we’ve seen time and again.
“It’s one of those things where you go over it and over it and over it and over it and over it and over it and over it, and it’s disappointing,’’ Heaps told the Boston Globe. “I’m flipping mad, if you want to know the truth, flipping mad.’’
Here are all four goals, including two more by Saer Sane, the Revolution striker who has definitely found his scoring feet.
Here’s the late, tying goal in New England.
