Save of the Week in MLS: five tough choices up for vote

Especially tough choices for this week’s MLS Save of the Week.

Personally, I like Matt Pickens’ save for Colorado (fourth of the five you’re about to watch.) But not by much. The others are great swats, too.

But I guess I already mentioned that.

    Perkins and Gruenenbuam were really the only ones who absolutely had to make that play in order to keep it out of goal. Tally Hall’s save was clearly over the bar upon replay. The shot on Hamid was on frame but he still just poked it straight up from his position to clear it over the bar. Picken’s play was athletic but not necessarily a save as he stopped the ball from being crossed not actually a shot on goal, plus his defenders were the actual ones to keep it out of the net. I’d go for Perkins personally, bc that ball had a wicked spin on it and his hands were lightening fast.
