Storming the U.S.-Brazil field seemed like a good idea, until …

Jun 1, 2012, 9:18 AM EDT

I once covered a college basketball coach known for his home-spun witticisms. When his smaller team came up against the muscled Kansas Jayhawks, the coach lamented that his team “looked like somebody tied a bunch of rubber hoses together.”

And when somebody did something imprudent on the court, he might explain that “The devil got inside him!”

Well, I think “the devil got inside” this ninny, who decided Wednesday that running on the field and getting himself arrested during the U.S.-Brazil friendly was a good idea. (By the way, officials might consider adding extra charges for those awful, shorty shorts.)

And about the officer who puts that guy on the business end of the law, putting the man on the ground, hard: some may have a problem with it. Me? I’ll buy that officer a soda pop of his choice if I ever run into him.

Here’s the video, a must-see (especially if you are ever considering such a stunt):

I guess there are no Meranda rights in D.C.?

Well, I’m no lawyer, but I have dated a couple. And if I’m not mistaken, the Miranda warning is an advisement of rights once the cuffs have been applied. So, unless you have audio of what’s being said as the ninny-jerk in question is being hauled away, I do not believe you can assume that he wasn’t properly Mirandized.

The Miranda warning only needs to be applied prior to interrogation, not necessarily the second the individual is detained.

The nitwit looked like Diego Maradonna

Dude, that’s funny. (And kinda right on, too … it does kind of look like him, pre-beard at least)

Looks like cops were a bit excessive.

Love watching Beckerman complaining about something. Kyle it is a friendly and the score is 4-1. Move on

    He never saw it coming!

As a cop, he should’ve tackled him, instead of pushed him. Weak hit in my eyes. As for you people that watch too much CSI, no you don’t have to read a person their rights, right then and there. As of then he was being detained, not arrested. There is a difference. It’s not until you officially arrest someone that you need to read them their rights.
