Storming the U.S.-Brazil field seemed like a good idea, until …

I once covered a college basketball coach known for his home-spun witticisms. When his smaller team came up against the muscled Kansas Jayhawks, the coach lamented that his team “looked like somebody tied a bunch of rubber hoses together.”

And when somebody did something imprudent on the court, he might explain that “The devil got inside him!”

Well, I think “the devil got inside” this ninny, who decided Wednesday that running on the field and getting himself arrested during the U.S.-Brazil friendly was a good idea. (By the way, officials might consider adding extra charges for those awful, shorty shorts.)

And about the officer who puts that guy on the business end of the law, putting the man on the ground, hard: some may have a problem with it. Me? I’ll buy that officer a soda pop of his choice if I ever run into him.
