A better look at that ginormous Russian banner

Jun 13, 2012, 11:16 AM EDT

I didn’t feel like yesterday’s photographic representation of the most awesome (and slightly scary) banner in the world did proper justice to that crazy thing. It really didn’t show the sheer, absurd scale of this sucker punch to Polish fans.

So I had a little talk with myself; spent some time thinking about what I’d done.

Properly motivated, I dug up a better shot – one that shows just how massive this thing is. It was unfurled just before kickoff at yesterday’s Poland-Russia clash in Warsaw. And it begs this question:

How, in the name of Michel Plantini, did someone get this monster through security? Because I don’t think something like that is going to fit under someone’s Euro jacket.

Heck, seems like it might be easier to sneak in an actual Russian bear.
