Paris Saint-Germain is done spending, according to Leonardo. At today’s unveiling of new signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the PSG technical director said the Parisans’ swoop for Ibra and teammate Thiago Silva will ends his team’s summer business:

“The signings of Ibrahimovic and Thiago are the biggest in PSG’s history,” the Brazilian told the media on Wednesday. Now, our market is closed.”

We walked through that spending yesterday, purchases that have reached $264 million in transfer fees since the Qatar Investment Authority (really, just Qatar) took control of the club last year.

The implications of that spending? Let’s look at the starting XI for PSG at the beginning of the last two seasons and contrast that against the team Carlo Ancelotti may select to start August 11 against Lorient (excuse the formation issues across seasons).

Pos. 2010-11 2011-12 2012-13
G Gregory Coupet Salvatore Sirigu Salvatore Sirigu
LB Tripy Makonda Siaka Tiene Maxwell
CB Zoumana Camara Milan Bisavec Thiago Silva
CB Mamadou Sahko Mamadou Sahko Diego Lugano
RB Ceará Christophe Jallet Christophe Jallet
M Claude Makélélé Blaise Matuidi Blaise Matuidi
M Mathieu Bodmer Clement Chantome Thiago Motta
M Stephane Sessegnon Jeremy Menez Javier Pastore
F Nene Nene Nene
F Guillaume Hoarau Guillaume Hoarau Ezequiel Lavezzi
F Melvut Erding Kevin Gameiro Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Of course, that 2012-13 lineup is not certain, though is seems Nene will be the only holdover from the team that started 2010-11′s campaign. Players like Jeremy Menez, Alex, and Mohamed Sissoko could all crack the XI, though it’s scary to see the full second string of stars that waits in the wings:

G: Nicolas Douchez
D: Siaka Tiené
D: Alex
D: Mamadou Sakho
D: Milan Bisevac
M: Mohamed Sissoko
M: Jeremy Menez
M: Mathieu Bodmer
M: Clement Chantome
F: Guillaume Hoarau
F: Kevin Gameiro

You have to make an article on Montpellier, current French Champion.
With a starting team salaries, just about the half of only Ibrahimovic salary.

Jourdren, Bocaly, Yanga-Mbiwa (L1 2nd Team), Hilton (L1 1st Team), Bedimo (L1 1st team), Saihi, Estrada, Camara, Belhanda (Youth player of the year and L1 1st Team), Utaka and Giroud (Best striker, L1 1st Team and gone to Arsenal)

4 are from the own Youth academy (Jourdren, Yanga-Mbiwa, Saihi and Belhanda)
Others were recruited for a total of 6 millions.

With small resources, they can make great things
