@jdl - I agree 100%.

This article seems to be written with a general disdain for Tottenham, which doesn't make any sense. Contract length alone gives Tottenham a lot of leverage. Luke, you don't want to play? Fine. You don't get paid...for the next 4 years. How's that for leverage?

The case Levy has to make is...you're under contract. How is it more complicated than that?

Levy has plenty of leverage. PSG is interested in Modric. Luka is under contract and can't do this without facing disciplinary action. This article of full of many errors. You're acting like Harry Redknapp is better than Spurs' current manager, Andre Villas-Boas. Also, some may argue that Spurs are going to be better this year as they signed Gylfi and Vertonghen. We don't know what will happen after Modric inevitably leaves, but it's certainly possible for them to acquire a very good role player with the proceeds from the sale. You aren't counting on the development of young players, such as Sandro, Bale, Gylfi among others. Real could probably do without Modric, but are they going to be able to keep down the better team in Barcelona without him? Modric is a top world CM.
