New England goalkeeper Matt Reis has gotten himself in trouble this year with dubious positioning, but he can clearly still make the big save. Check out his first-half effort tonight on a Jacob Peterson header.

If there was a better save, it may have been down in Houston … and it wasn’t from a goalkeeper. Watch the hustling effort here from Montreal defender Shavar Thomas, whose mighty effort prevents what would have absolutely been a goal by the Houston Dynamo. (Unlike Reis’ big moment, which helped rescue a point for New England, Thomas’ heroism only delayed the Houston onslaught.)

Reis’ save is better. Kandji should’ve put that goal away.

I kinda had the same thought about Kandji, honestly … but that doesn’t take away from a super effort on Thomas’ part. Not for me, anyway.
