Soccer and the space shuttle; a spectacular photo

Sep 21, 2012, 6:10 PM EDT

No need for a bushel of words on this one, except to say thanks to the Houston Dynamo for the awesome shot.

Space shuttle Endeavour flew low over Texas on Thursday on its way to California – the perfect chance to get crackin’ photos like this one, Endeavour over BBVA Compass Stadium.

Houston, of course, has a special relationship with space exploration because the Johnson Space Center is housed there.

I can’t believe they actually allowed another aircraft to get this close! I’m pretty sure FAA regulations don’t allow this, but whether they do or they granted some sort of special variance for this flight, I’m sure we can all say were grateful this shot was possible, whatever the reason. What an awesome picture!
