I think I’m in the minority on this one, but I don’t we can use the phrase “usually steady self” in relation to Tim Howard anymore. In my opinion, his play has slipped noticably for club and country over the past few years. Yes, he still has those games that are absolutely sensational but more and more the phrases, “Howard could of done better” are coming out. Two years ago I would have said there is no way, barring injury, Howard wouldn’t be the #1 going into 2014. Now I am not so sure.
