What is not getting near enough ink this week is the oversized stakes in this game. Who ever wins this cup, MLS Cup 2012, will have the most impressive record of MLS 2.0. The winner will become THE greatest team of recent years:
Either Houston with 3 Cups won, 4 cups played in over 7 years; or
LA Galaxy with 2 Cups won, 2 SS, 3 cups played in over 4 years.

Only one of those gaudy records will be completed. Take a 2012 Cup away from either and the other's record looks a lot better in comparison.

All folks want to write about is how plain the Dynamo are. But in fact, a team that wins this much just might be clearly the flashiest best team of all -- and folks just don't know how to recognize it. 15 MLS Cup ties -- 12 won. Think about that for a while.
