Everything about is a mistake. They are like the crazy ex-girlfriend from MLS’ past, except they aren’t in the past. Somebody really needs to fix Chivas, because it’s not just a club issue, it’s a league issue. Baby Club Xenophobia USA just does not work in the new, successful MLS. In fact, their very existence is an embarrassment. Maybe (but probably not) LA can support two teams, but why not move them to a better market? Why not re-brand the club? Why not not make Vergara learn English (sorry, I had to)?

I think most of us thought that Domene would be gone as soon as the buy-out by Vergara was completed, and that is why the revealing of the chart was a shock to most people. Now there’s a reversal from the supposed plan that Vergara was publicizing.

Not only that, but Vergara’s comments from that same meeting led everyone to believe that a new head coach would be announced in “7 to 10 days”. Clearly that hasn’t happened. And all this begs the question: what the hell is Vergara doing? Is he really capable of turning this organization around? The more I hear, I severely doubt it.

Also, Steve: speaking of house-cleaning, look what the Crew are doing. Seven more players gone today, including Hesmer and four defenders. The only one they ousted that wasn’t carrying a near-season-long injury was Miranda. This leaves them with three defenders on the roster. I’ll wait patiently for your article on these moves tomorrow :-)
