Is the first pick of the MLS draft cursed? Have a look at the table of first picks since 1996 (and then look at who was picked after them). Maybe its better to be picked second?

Sometimes the winning draft is relative to what you had going in.

I thought my Sounders did very well moving up from 16 to 10 and drafting a guy that lead his team in scoring in a year they won the NCAA championship. He is GA so no salary cap hit and they only paid allocation dollars for it.

Also, they grab another guy that would have been GA and a top 5 draft pick, if they didn’t pull him from the draft with the HGP tag.
