Man, I don’t want to see Brek go. He is our most dynamic player and we don’t have anyone to replace him.

It might be more about Shea wearing out his welcome a bit. Playing with matches and gasoline near the bridges. We spend a lot of time around the FCD grounds and there has a been an eye or two rolled when Brekken’s name gets to the top of conversation. Either way though stoke is getting a good deal.

Either DFC needed the money, didn’t believe in Shea anymore (highly unlikely), or perhaps they felt he needed to move on after such a tumultuous season. I say this as a return to form would have brought a much higher transfer fee (as is pointed out in the article). Of course I expect this move may have had at least as much to do with Shea and his representation as it has to do with DFC, no?

They may very well, they seem to convert everyone into a defender.

But come what may, we may well learn a lot about Shea and his real standing as a player in the coming months.

Good for him. I’ve seen a lot of people worried that he might sit on the bench. If’ he’s destined to be a good USMNT player, he’ll be able to get time at Stoke. If he can’t get time, then he probably just wasn’t good enough. Actually, I think he’ll be a good player for them. He plays defense, but can attack off a counter. Good for them…
