Canada is seeing Jurgen Klinsmann’s youth … and then raising him an uncapped man or two.

No fewer than 10 Canadians will be looking for their first caps in friendlies later this month, including the contest against Klinsmann’s United States national team in Houston on Jan. 29.

Klinsmann’s ongoing camp is mostly younger MLS types; eight of his players are uncapped at full international level. From the 25-man U.S. camp, Klinsmann will choose his roster for the contest at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.

Today, Canadian manager Colin Miller named his squad. It does include D.C. United standout Dwayne De Rosario, along with vets like Dejan Jakovic, Terry Dunfield, Lars Hirschfeld and Nik Ledgerwood.

Also called Friday is midfielder Kyle Bekker (pictured, on right), an Ontario native who played collegiately at Boston College and was just selected No. 3 overall by Toronto FC in Thursday’s MLS draft.

He’s among Miller’s talented youngsters. A total of 22 will report to a short training camp before the team lines up against Denmark in Tucson on Jan. 26, then move into Texas for the Jan. 29 friendly.

The complete roster and press release is here from the Canadian Soccer Association.
