I don’t think RSL has much hope to be a contender this year without some major reinforcement. They should have cap space, but they haven’t made any major acquisitions. Maybe they’ll pick up some guys in the summer.

I’ll add another question to these: how will newcomers Maund, Grossman, and Palmer mesh with the RSL philosophy? Maund has not shown well for TFC over the past couple seasons; but it’s TFC… Grossman was a castoff from C-bus, but he seems to have the tenacity needed in the RSL system, especially for a midfielder. Could he be another Grabavoy-type? I had never been high on Palmer, even during his Dynamo days under Kinnear. He seems to compromised of a player (ie, utility man) to be good at any one position, but there’s no doubt he provides some cover at outside back, as well as midfield.

If this year had another CCL tourney in store for RSL, I’d say depth wouldn’t be a problem at all. But if these three are going to be relied upon to provide stability across multiple positions, then I have a lot of questions about how they’re going to assimilate.

FYI dc united just brought in some phenom indonesia kid, thats from the same town the Owner is from.
