She had some great moments with the USWNT but it was pretty obvious her run was getting near the end.

Pia moved her to midfield in the 4-2-3-1 experiment before Alex forced Pia back to a 4-4-2, and A Rod was buried behind Cheney, Lloyd, Rapinoe, O’ Reilly, Heath, and Boxx at MF.

Plus, she would easily be the fourth choice forward behind Abby, Alex, and Leroux.

She did provide some nice depth with her versatility, but it’s nice to see the next phase of her life getting started with some happy news! Hopefully, we will have the chance to see her play again in the NWSL.
