He doesn’t have US citizenship, so he would have had to wait 5 years after getting his Green Card while not playing for Honduras in any FIFA official competition (like the Olympics). That’s too much to ask for a player who would have been torn even if he were eligible for both from the beginning.

He’s pledged allegiance to Honduras. He is however eligible for USA and El Salvador .
