And the last bit of transfer news (we hope; we are exhausted) is that Simon Dawkins is leaving the friendly confines of Buck Shaw Stadium for the English Premier League.

He’ll suit up with Eric Lichaj, Brad Guzan, and the rest of Aston Villa. Cool.

“I’m really focused on what I need to do for the rest of this season & looking forward to training with my new team-mates,” he said, although the Villa faithful wish their management brought them more at the deadline.

Villa, which currently sits in 19th and is not good, will likely go down at the end of the season. At that time, Dawkins could come back to the Earthquakes. He is currently owned by Tottenham Hotspurs.

Did you say Simon Dawkins highlight reel?

Im really disappointed with this move, i consider the Earthquakes to be one of the bigger clubs in the mls, i know tottenheim owns his rights but to see an important player leave from a high profile team is suprising, also i doubt he will do good in the EPL, i dont think he is ready yet, and this will probably hurt the mls the most, bu just not good to see, also nice to see steve on extratime

I wonder if it was something that Dawkins wanted. I can’t see how, but I am biased against the joke leagues of Europe. Not sure how that would work, after AV is banished from the top league ? He would join SJ half way through the season ? Wouldn’t that put them over the.cap ? Or have to sit out a season ?

I thought all loans to MLS had to have a clause where the MLS team could buy the player…
