For one, I didn’t know his father was a Cosmo for the original team. Neat connection. Secondly, Alecko has done wonders for youth soccer in the US. Honestly, I’m surprised he’s being named assistant coach instead of head of youth development or some such thing. Granted, Cosmos don’t have the infrastructure completely set up yet, so maybe a move for Eskandarian is in his future.

Reynish is a no-brainer if you ask me. His record in MLS is superb, and I’d say he’s an early candidate for GKotY… provided the Cosmo’s half season warrants him that opportunity. I had heard rumors they were in talks with Kevin Hartman, but that has obviously fallen through. With the likes of Reynish and Carlos Mendes in defense, they seem to want to build out of the back. I’m excited to see other additions in the future.
