What you’re actually betting on sometimes is how a fixed match is fixed, rather than the outcome. The ‘fixing’ section of ESPN’s sports encyclopedia is available online. In it the FBI estimates that a full 3% of ncaa basketball games with a point spread of 12 or more points (iirc) are involved in match fixing. That’s literally more than 1000 games per season, quite a bit more!
