U.S. internationals Edgar Castillo, Joe Corona plow into Copa Libertadores action for Club Tijuana

Getty Images We make a big deal when talented American players get into the UEFA Champions League because … well, because UCL is a big deal.
But Copa Libertadores is a pretty big deal, too.
So we should pay some attention as a couple of Americans make a long trip to Colombia to open group play in South America’s prestigious club tournament.
U.S. international defender Edgar Castillo and promising young attacker Joe Corona (pictured, playing for U.S. national team) play for newly crowned Liga MX champion Club Tijuana. They meet Colombian champion Millonarios tonight in Bogota (7:30 p.m. ET tonight on FOX Deportes) in a huge match for the once-obscure club with increasingly big ambition.
The Mexican club’s opposition in Copa Libertadores group play includes Millonarios, reigning South American and Club World Cup champion Corinthians and Bolivian runner-up San Jose.
Castillo is a starter for the Xolos, having started all seven matches in the Liga MX Clausura. Corona has started five times and appeared as sub in one other contest. The team stats are here.
