Here’s an idea – whistle them the same as you whistle an in-season game. And then do what Uncle Stevey said – and have suspensions that begin in the regular season. Losing game checks gets the immediate and undivided attention of players.

preseason games are less about getting fit than allowing coaches the chance to see not only who will be in the starting line-up, but also your 30 man roster.

Practices just do not have the same intensity as a game does, coming from a player who played way better than he practiced in college.

Here’s a thought…get rid of preseason games altogether. They are professional athletes, they should be prepared already.

I get it … but you don’t want players getting hurt because some guys knows that he get away with whatever. Sooner or later, there is bound to be an injury that matters because of of these games gets out of hand.
