Thursday’s Transfer Rumor Roundup: Bale to Madrid, David Villa to Spurs

Jun 27, 2013, 7:51 AM EDT

Bale

More rumors keep pouring in across European soccer this morning, after Carlos Tevez completed his deal to Juventus late last night.

Plenty of other big name players are involved in intense speculations, with some of Europe’s biggest sides priming themselves to attack the transfer market.

Let’s see who could be on the move.

Real Madrid just aren’t giving up and have offered Tottenham Hotspur yet another tempting offer for star attacker Gareth Bale. The Welshman has remained quite all summer but now that Carlo Ancelotti is in charge at Real, the Spanish giants are stepping up their efforts to get Bale. The 23-year-old winger will be in hot demand from Europe’s top clubs after scooping the EPL Player of the Year award but should he stay in England instead of moving abroad? Madrid have a plethora of attacking options but are willing to send Argentine star Angel Di Maria to Spurs along with mountains of cash. (Daily Mirror)

Out of favor Manchester City full back Micah Richards is on his way to Bayern Munich according to reports in England. Richards still has two years left on his current deal with City, but Munich are willing to pay $21 million for the English right back. Richards, 25, was a City regular and captain at right back and in central defense. But after falling down the pecking order under Robert Mancini, and then having a serious knee injury, Richards’ career has slipped into obscurity. Could it be revived under Pep Guardiola at Bayern? While City could offer Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko to Borussia Dortmund to sweeten a deal for Robert Lewandowski. The 24-year-old Polish striker is still hankering for a move away from BVB, and City have already offloaded striker Carlos Tevez to try and make room for the big Pole. $20 million plus Dzeko could do the trick. Lewandowski’s direct approach would suit the EPL superbly and City aren’t splashing the cash. Lewandowski scored 36 goals last season, and 30 during the 2011-12 campaign and City’s struggled to score on many occasions last term. (Express)

Staying in England, Spurs are reportedly lining up a deal for Barcelona striker David Villa to reinforce their attack ahead of the new campaign. Villa, 31, has played well at the Confederations Cup for the Spanish national team but regular soccer at Barca seems to be out of his reach with Neymar arriving next season. Tottenham need a new forward, with Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe the only recognized strikers available to Andre Villas-Boas. Villa’s clinical finishing could do the trick at White Hart Lane. Especially if Bale does leave. (Daily Mail)

Arsenal’s forgotten man Nicklas Bendtner could finally be on his way out of the Emirates, after spending last season on loan at Juventus. The Danish international is reportedly close to a permanent switch to Bundesliga side Frankfurt. The 25-year-old is likely to fall further down Arsene Wenger’s pecking order with the likes of Gonzalo Higuain close to joining the Gunners. Bendtner was given the chance to flourish at Arsenal but several incidents off the pitch and not quite fulfilling his potential on it, has led to an impending exit from the North London side.
