West Ham United get their season underway at home against new boys Cardiff City at 10:00am ET this morning.

The Hammers are missing Andy Carroll through injury, while new signing Stewart Downing is on the bench. For Cardiff City, their first-ever game in the Premier League is a tough test at Upton Park.

Malky Mackay starts with Chilean signing Gary Medel in midfield and Craig Bellamy returns to the PL with his new team.

    I was expecting a lot more from Cardiff. It’s only 37 minutes, but they don’t look like they belong in the Prem. No possession whatsoever and they can’t defend to save their life. Their defensive line is way too deep. Should be 3 or 4 nill and would be against a better team
