It took just 3 minutes for Liverpool to find themselves an opener at Anfield, as Daniel Sturridge flicks on Steven Gerrard‘s free kick into the net.

Gerrard sent in a corner from the right corner flag, and Daniel Agger got his head to it to direct it towards goal.  Sturridge was lurking on the goal line and he redirected the header into the net.

Its the third goal of the young season for Sturridge, who has sparkled in the absence of Luis Suarez, relegating Suarez into obscurity for the time being.

Manchester United are still struggling to settle into the match, and now they will have to work from behind to find an equalizer.

You can watch the match live here on NBC Sports Live Extra.

Liverpool are an exciting team and so I’m rooting for them as I don’t want them to break up given the absence of European football next season. Glad for the good goal in the opening minutes, although the game has evened out since. At the end of the first half, I’d say Liverpool deserve the lead…but I must admit ManU will be a threat the whole second half – in particular, the opening 15. Exciting!

watching the football match on tv, but I don’t enjoy the fact I can’t access thr stream video from nbc live or the Telemundo Deportes app either. Before the app update, it would work thrn crash, after the update it does not work at all. I am sure NBC is aware of the issues, but have not heard about any resolutions yet. Your tv ratings are affected by this lack.of ability to watch the football games via mobile devices which many people rely on nowadays.

ManU is seriously turning the screw…what can LFC do?

No real attempts on goal, though, which is strange.

    Good job, you Reds.

Nothing like seeing Evra annoyed and peeved. Can’t stand that dude.
