As the European transfer deadline comes to a close later today, deals are being completed all the time across the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and the rest of Europe.
Here are some of the big rumors circling around this morning, but stay tuned to ProSoccerTalk throughout the day as we will let you know when the big deals drop.
Arsenal are said to have a agreed a whopping $60 million deal for Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid. But there is still some debate as to whether or not the German international, 24, will sign with the Gunners. Recently he has talked about how happy he is at the Bernabeu but with Gareth Bale‘s arrival Ozil may now find his minutes limited. Can Arsenal shock everyone?
Manchester United are also set to splash the cash today as they look to tie up their summer-long pursuit of Everton duo Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines. It is believed that Fellaini is the main target for United and they are willing to fork out $34 million for the Belgian international midfielder. And if former Toffees manager David Moyes fails in his bid to bring left back Baines to Old Trafford too, then Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao is the back up option.
Demba Ba could be making a shock move across London, as Arsenal seek to bolster their options up front. The Chelsea forward could move to the Emirates on loan after being left out of Chelsea’s last two squads by José Mourinho. Ba was linked with a move to the Gunners during his time at Newcastle but he decided to join Chelsea. Could the towering striker be an Arsenal player by the end of the day?
Tottenham Hotspur may not be done in the transfer market as they aim to bring in winger Tom Ince from Blackpool. The England Under-21 international could join Spurs for $12 million as the North London club look to add even more exciting young talent to their ranks following the sale of Gareth Bale.
Palermo striker Abel Hernandez is leaving the Sicilian club but Arsenal may not be his destination. The Uruguayan forward has been rumored to be attracting Arsene Wenger‘s attention however now Serie A side Genoa have jumped to the front of the line. The 23-year-old showed his supreme scoring talents in the Confederations Cup, will he be in the Serie A or the Premier League?
Schalke’s talented young attacker Julian Draxler could be on the move after all, as the German international spoke out about any potential move. Draxler, 19, has been a long-term target for Arsenal and would cost around $45 million to grab him away from the Bundesliga outfit. Is it a case of Ozil or Draxler for the Gunners?
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is having a medical at Sunderland ahead of a season-long loan deal with the Black Cats. The Italian striker, 22, has been hampered by injury since joining from Roma and with Liverpool adding Victor Moses and others his chances at Anfield will be limited. A good signing for the Mackems?
Swansea are in talks with Bolton about adding French striker David N’gog as an extra striker at the Liberty Stadium. Ngog, 24, started off his career with Liverpool but spent a successful loan stint with the Wanderers and could provide quality cover for the Swans. Does this mean Swansea are losing Arsenal target Michu?
West Bromwich Albion are looking to bolster their attack considerably after not scoring in their opening three games of the current Premier League campaign. Steve Clarke is said to be chasing out-of-favor Everton striker Victor Anichebe and Sunderland attacker Stephane Sessegnon. Anichebe would cost in the region of $10 million while Sessegnon has been told he’s not need by the Black Cats. Will they be good fits for the Baggies?
Premier League new boys Cardiff City are in talks to sign West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie. The Nigerian striker was left embarrassed by Queens Park Rangers last January during the transfer deadline as he turned up at Loftus Road without a deal being finalized with West Brom. He hasn’t featured since and Cardiff could get a bargain for the 32-year-old.
