Bob Bradley and Egypt finished off a dominant World Cup qualifying group stage with a 4-2 victory over Guinea, making it six victories in six matches for the Pharaohs.

The streak means Bradley’s squad are the only team in the world to keep a 100% record in World Cup qualifying. After Adam El Abd conceded an own-goal in the 4th minute, the Pharoahs levelled the match through a 38th minute strike by Hossam Ghaly.

Thirteen minutes later and Egypt took the lead on a Mohamed Aboutrika penalty kick before Guinea leveled the match in the 57th through Seydouba Soumah. With seven minutes to play Mohamed Salah broke the deadlock before Amr Zaki sealed the deal four minutes later.

With the win, Egypt finished first in Group G with 18 points, eight points clear of second place Guinea. Bradley’s squad will now join nine other African teams in a home-and-away playoff for the third and final round of African World Cup qualifying: Ethiopia, Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon and Senegal.

The draw of the play-offs will be held on September 16th at the CAF headquarters in Cairo and the matches are scheduled to be played in the periods of October 11-15 and November 15-19.
