With injuries continuing to pile up, Arsenal are now hoping the player they could ill afford to lose is not seriously injured.
Striker Olivier Giroud was a late substitute at the end of Arsenal’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland with an apparent knee injury, and although the striker said his leg is fine, the club still await tests.
With Lukas Podolski already out long-term with a serious hamstring injury and Arsene Wenger‘s failure to boost the strike ranks in the transfer window, Giroud is the only viable option up front for the Gunners.
The Frenchman took to Twitter to ease fans fears, so it may not be as bad as originally feared.
My knee is ok don't worry! Thanks for your support! 😉—

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger acknowledged how much of a loss Giroud would be, given that he’s scored four goals already this season. “I think he is becoming a very important player for us” the manager said.
Wenger also said that Santi Cazorla picked up an ankle injury and will miss out until the next international break in mid-October.
