Aston Villa 1-2 Newcastle United – Recap

The Magpies made it two straights wins as Alan Pardew‘s men took the lead through Hatem Ben Arfa before Christian Benteke equalized for Villa. But Yoan Gouffran snatched all three points to send the Newcastle fans happy on their long journey north.

Everton 1-0 Chelsea – Recap

What a huge first victory for Roberto Martinez in charge at Everton. Steven Naismith gave the home side a much-needed win against Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea. The Toffees are unbeaten in four and are looking solid after new additions like Gareth Barry shone.

Fulham 1-1 West Brom – Recap

A disappointing afternoon for the Cottagers as they let all three points slip through the grasp in stoppage time. West Brom defender Gareth McAuley headed home late on to cancel out Steve Sidwell‘s first half strike. Chants of “Jol Out” were heard at full time, could this be a bad season for Fulham?

Hull 1-1 Cardiff City – Recap

The two newly-promoted teams battled it out at the KC Stadium and a respectable draw was the outcome. The Tigers took the lead early on through Curtis Davies but Cardiff got a deserved point thanks to Peter Whittingham‘s cool finish.

Manchester United 2-0 Crystal Palace – Recap

A routine win, in the end, for United as David Moyes got his first home league victory in charge of the Red Devils. The crucial moment came on the stroke of half time as Dikagcoi was shown a red card and United were given a penalty after the Palace midfielder took down Ashely Young. Robin van Persie scored from the spot and Wayne Rooney added a late free kick to put some gloss on the scoreline.

Stoke City 0-0 Manchester City – Recap

Manchester City still have never won at the Britannia Stadium in the Premier League. A fifth straight draw between these two at Stoke on Saturday but the home side could have won the game but Joe Hart came to the Citizen’s rescue.

Sunderland 1-3 Arsenal – Recap

One of the best games of the season so far as both teams went for it at the Stadium of Light. Arsenal tore Sunderland to shreds in the first half with debutant Mesut Ozil setting up Olivier Giroud perfectly to open the score. The Black Cats scored an early second half penalty via Craig Gardner and pushed the Gunners hard. But Aaron Ramsey popped up to score twice in quick succession and sandwiched inbetween all that was a controversial disallowed goal from Jozy Altidore. Great game.

Tottenham 2-0 Norwich City – Recap

Spurs continued their impressive start to the season without Gareth Bale. Christian Eriksen looks like a terrific player and he set up Gylfi Sigurdsson for the opener and the Icelandic international added a second goal after the break as Tottenham downed the Canaries at White Hart Lane.
