U.S. international Aron Jóhannsson scores a beauty (video)

Sep 28, 2013, 5:32 PM EDT

Fresh off a hat trick on Wednesday for AZ Alkmaar in a KNVB Cup win, U.S. striker Aron Jóhannsson was at it again Saturday.

Watch below as the young man born in Alabama (and then raised in Iceland) nails a nice one in his team’s big Eredivisie win over league-leading PSV Eindhoven. His shrewd strike – awareness is the key here, as the young forward knows exactly how best to exploit the goalkeeper’s positioning –is the game-winner for his Dutch club.

Johannsson now has 10 goals in all competitions for AZ – and remember, it’s not even October just yet.

Get this kid some USMNT playing action soon. He really needs to travel to Brazil with the rest of the guys.

There is a reason why Klinsmann worked hard to get this kid to switch to the U.S.

    Don’t worry, dawg. It’ll happen. Don’t trip.

Yikes…that defense in that league is a lot worse than I expected. A guy had a ball bouce over his head and when it lands there is no one on the ball or the player. He had so much time he let it bounce a second time before kicking it.

It still takes a lot of skill to score a goal like that.
