Competition for Zlatan, from Irish international Steph Roche

Oct 24, 2013, 4:00 PM EDT

One of the best goals of the month came from an Irish women’s league game, when Stephanie Roche juggled the ball on top of the opponent’s penalty area before slamming home an audacious volley.

It was the Peamount United and Republic of Ireland forward’s first goal of the season. Because league games are not televised, the club uploaded her goal to YouTube and watched the hits stack up.

“To be honest, I didn’t think at the time how good of a goal it was,” Roche told “The hype over it is unbelievable. I can’t believe it.”

Once you see the goal (or see it again, if you already have), you’ll understand why so many people are talking about it:

BRILLIANT Goal! Would be a goal of the month and year contender in any of the top leagues in the world.

Very nice display of skill but that cannot be put in Zlatans league. Maybe im putting too much into the fact that he had 4 goals, 1 cannon off the far pipe and the ball finished in the near side net, a 30 yard BOMB that was just Marvelous, a fancy backheel with not a lot of angle at all, and then his first easy goal. 3 out of 4 should be top 5 of the week. Steph’s goal would rank 3rd in MY opinion after the 30 yard blast and the back heel
