What is on Aron Johannsson’s mind? His first U.S. national team goal, of course!

Nov 16, 2013, 6:05 PM EDT

Aron Johannsson, the Icelandic-American who only recently gained FIFA approval to put his talents into a U.S. national team shirt, is clearly quite proud of his U.S. national team achievements.

As the United States moved its camp East, from Scotland into Austria for its upcoming friendly, Johannsson was clearly still thinking of the first goal he scored for the United States of America … which was last month!

Johannsson’s debut goal was in the third minute of stoppage time on Oct. 15, the game-winner over Panama in a 3-2 victory at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Central America. That was in the United States’ final World Cup qualifier.

But it is obviously still on the young man’s mind. How do we know? Because he Tweeted out his Instagram memory of the moment just this afternoon – which was this evening in Austria, but never mind that.

I would like for him, Jozy, and Boyd to score against Austria over there. Him, because so he can keep it up. Jozy, because he needs to score. Boyd, because he plays his club ball in Austria.

I’d kind of like to see Boyd get the chance to start in the country he plays in. But I bet he will at least get lots of PT.

Oh and since the article is about Johannson, I’m so glad he chose us, he is going to be fantastic!

Yeah, I know that. I think we all know that.
