When Russia hosts the 2018 World Cup, it wants its coach to be Fabio Capello. The nation has re-upped with the Italian manager through the 2018 cycle.

Capello led Russia to its first World Cup since 2002 as the side went 7W-1D-2L to slip by Portugal in Group F. The team did not concede more than once in any of the matches and registered a goal differential of plus-15.

Capello will be 72-years-old when the 2018 World Cup is completed, and his last World Cup saw him lead England into the knockout stages of the 2010 World Cup. He’s myriad trophies as a club manager with Milan, Real Madrid and Roma, including the 1993-94 UEFA Champions League title.

He was whispered for open jobs at Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham amongst others in recent history, but opted to stay in the international game.
