Tim Howard will play in Everton’s most important match of the season on Sunday, a match at Goodison against Arsenal with top-four hopes on the line which will be live on NBCSN Sunday at 8:30am ET or live online at NBC Sports Live Extra.
A win would put the Toffees just a point back of the Gunners for the final Champions League spot, while a loss would see Arsene Wenger go seven clear of Howard’s crew.
Sunderland’s Jozy Altidore will also be on NBCSN, a Monday date with Tottenham who are reeling from yet another drubbing at the hands of Liverpool. The Black Cats are looking to claw their way up from the Premier League’s 19th position.
In the Championship, Jonathan Spector and Will Packwood are in a big relegation six-pointer against Doncaster, Tim Ream‘s Bolton travels to Huddersfield just a point behind their hosts in the table’s bottom half, with Duane Holmes on the other side. Danny Williams and Reading look to cement their playoff position with a trip to Charlton.
Aron Johannsson looks to snap a three-match scoreless streak against last-placed Roda JC Kerkrade in the Eredivisie’s late Sunday match. He’s missed two penalties in their last two matches.
Yet again Juan Agudelo looks to get off his goal drought after going 66 scoreless minutes last week. He sits at 523 minutes with FC Utrecht without scoring. They face ADO Den Haag in Sunday’s early match.
Mix Diskerud got his club off to a good start with a goal in Rosenburg’s Tippeligaen season-opening win last week, and they take on Aalesund Saturday afternoon. Bob Bradley‘s Stabaek look to follow up their 3-0 win with one over SK Brann on Sunday.
Anderlecht have lost three of their last five and now sit ten behind Juliper Pro League leaders Standard Liege. Sascha Kljestan will hope to return to full-90 action Sunday against Club Brugge.
Most Americans in the Liga MX have yet to feature. All eyes will be on Puebla’s Saturday fixture against Atlas, as DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco were denied release to play for the USMNT midweek with the club fighting off relegation. The players and coaches weren’t happy. Jose Torres and Tigres have Atlante on Sunday. Hercules Gomez rode the bench for Tijuana in their match Friday night Toluca.
