U.S. Men’s National Team forward Julian Green has undergone an exam on the left shoulder he injured during the USMNT’s 2-2 draw with Mexico last week.

The news comes from MLSSoccer.com’s Greg Seltzer who says an awkward fall against El Tri resulted in the Bayern Munich II player missing his team’s 2-0 derby victory over SpVgg Bayern Hof last weekend.

At this time there’s no word on the severity of the injury. Green has enjoyed a prosperous season for Bayern II, scoring 15 goals and recording eight assists in 23 league appearances.

I hope he gets well quickly and still plays.

It was Green’s first time under the bright lights and you could tell. He probably should have taken the shot on his first touch when he burst through the middle. But, he’s only 18 and the fact that he a) saw the run, b) made the run and c) timed the run is impressive for an 18-year old that, everyone wants to point out, only plays in the German forth division. His willingness to take on, and beat, two defenders, not too mention that it that should have drawn a free kick just outside the box, was also very impressive. I can see why JK wanted him so badly.
