USMNT youth coach Tab Ramos named 21 young men to take part in a 3-day camp in California to prepare for qualification to the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The roster, consisting of all North American-based players, consists almost entirely of players with professional contracts. Only two – goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh (Santa Clara) and forward Jordan Morris (Stanford University) – do not have a pro contract.
Ramos indicated that the group is intended to begin a core development, and that he hopes to have two or three more similar camps before qualification begins. No dates have been set for that yet.
At the end of the three days will be a friendly played against Mexico’s Club Tijuana.
With 840 days until the Olympics begin, it’s nearly impossible to get a bead on the young talent – who will be in the picture and who will not is about as foggy as it can get.
In addition, with all the players either US- or Mexico-based, it leaves out an entire crop playing outside North America (of which there are plenty).
Without further ado, here is the roster Ramos has Tabbed (don’t worry, I’ll show myself out), per MLSSoccer.com:
