Most of Mexico’s World Cup squad is set, according to a Mexican report, meaning there are precious few slots available for El Tri hopefuls.

Here are the names reported as set for the trip to Brazil. Eleven were on the roster for the April 5 draw against the United States (their names are starred):

Goalkeepers
Jesus Corona (Cruz Azul)
Alfredo Talavera* (Toluca)

Defenders
Diego Reyes (Porto)
Rafael Marquez* (Leon)
Hector Moreno (Espanyol)
Francisco Rodriguez* (America)
Miguel Layun* (America)
Paul Aguilar* (America)

Midfielders
Andres Guardado (Bayer Leverkusen)
Juan Carlos Medina* (America)
Carlos Pena* (Leon)
Jose Juan Vazquez (Leon)
Luis Montes* (Leon)
Hector Herrera (Porto)
Isaac Brizuela* (Toluca)

Forwards
Oribe Peralta (Santos Laguna)
Raul Jimenez* (America)
Javier Hernandez (Manchester United)
Alan Pulido* (Tigres)

Plenty of notable names remain in question for Miguel Herrera. Between the sticks, will Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio) make the cut, or could Moises Munoz (America) or Jonathan Orozco (Monterrey) steal the third slot?

On defense, Juan Carlos Valenzuela (America), Jorge Torres Nilo (Tigres), Enrique Perez (Atlas), Carlos Salcido (Tigres) and Miguel Ponce (Toluca) are notable omissions and the attack force could be without Giovani dos Santos (Villarreal), Aldo de Nigris (Guadalajara) or Marco Fabian (Cruz Azul).

When will Mexico ever open there eyes and see what they have already! I don’t understand why they will never go with Ochoa he is one of the best goalkeeper Mexico is going to have and yet they treat him like if he still has something to prove. Also Giovani Dos Santos I know he had a leg injury, but that don’t mean it will interfere with him in world cup he should be ready to go and play good like he always do. Mexico always does this kind of stuff to there best players.
