‘San Zusi’ saved Mexico’s World Cup hopes with his late goal against Panama, but he has a chance to become a household name in the United States and Mexico by the end of the tournament. With the ability to change a game, the solid Zusi is capable of the stunning cross, pass or run, though he isn’t a world-class finisher.

MORE: USMNT player profiles

Full name: Graham Jonathan Zusi

Age: 27

Hometown: Longwood, Florida

Position: Midfielder

Caps/goals: 21 caps, 3 goals

Club: Sporting Kansas City

Best moment in a U.S. shirt: That ‘San Zusi’ marker, the second of two goals in four days for the USMNT back in October.

Starter or squad player at World Cup? An expected starter on the right side of Klinsmann’s midfielder, Zusi may make an impression against the run of play or on set pieces. Even if Omar Gonzalez’s ponytail doesn’t dent the lineup, it appears there will be one: Zusi is a fixture.

He isn’t a liability defensively like Davis, that’s for sure.

Oh my those were a couple wicked long distance deliveries against Turkey …

Every time I see Zusi with the USMNT, I become more and more a fan of his. I think he’s the guy who’s stock is most likely to rise in Brazil, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see clubs from England or Italy come knocking on SKC’s door.

I don’t think he has the speed to compete in England.

Being a sporting kc fan, I’ve been able to enjoy Zusi’s play in person for years. I can’t tell you how many perfect crosses this guy puts in each game. I think I read a stat around here that said he has created he most chances on goal for over a year now in the mls. Whether that’s true or not, I can testify to his presence as a reliable deadly threat. Can’t wait to see the service he’ll provide in Brazil.
