It’s on! USMNT arrives in Brazil (without Klinsmann but with photos)

Jun 9, 2014, 9:41 AM EDT

The United States mens national team arrived in Brazil today without head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, as World Cup fever is palpable at worst.

Klinsmann is in Miami to watch this afternoon’s friendly between Korea Republic and the USMNT’s first foe in Group G, Ghana.

Here are some snazzy photos from the Twitter feed for US Soccer.

The States wrapped up the send-off series with a 2-1 win over Nigeria on Saturday, one in which Klinsmann’s new formation drew rave reviews. World Cup begins Thursday, with the U.S. kicking its tournament off on Monday against Ghana.

I’d like to see the same starting lineup as against Nigeria, except with Zusi over Bedoya. Personal preference because of his hustle and service…

Please no Beckerman! He is slow and careless with the ball!

Beckerman allows Jones to be more free, and not held back when at the bottom of the diamond. Beckerman is there to stay in front of the back 4 and behind Jones/Bradley: a midfield plug, allowing the ones that need to make the plays, make them. I say he is a must start.
