2014 US Open Cup rolls on with MLS teams snaring wins

There’s another cup tournament going on during the World Cup, and Major League Soccer teams seized their first two opportunities of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

Cordell Cato’s 73rd minute goal boosted San Jose to a 2-1 win over USL Pro’s Sacramento Republic FC, while Alex Lopez’s goal sent the 10-man Houston Dynamo past the 10-man Laredo Heat of the PDL in a 1-0 win.
