Twitter beams with pride despite US defeat to Belgium

After the USA’s defeat to Belgium in the Round of 16 on Tuesday, the Twittersphere reacted to the U.S. being knocked out of the World Cup.

Athletes, politicians and celebrities of every kind took to social media to salute the magnificent U.S. effort and let the 23-men who made a nation proud know just what they had achieved.

    ok, let’s be real. The US won ONE freaking game! They had a brutal tie with Portugal and were completely outclassed by Germany and Belgium. Tim Howard is the only reason the two losses were even close. I will always root for the USMNT but someone has to keep the rest of America honest.
