VIDEO: Julian Green scores on competitive debut for US vs. Belgium

Jul 1, 2014, 6:28 PM EST

Coming off the bench for his full competitive debut as the youngest ever U.S. player at the World Cup, Julian Green made an instant impact.

The 19-year-old volleyed home in style after Michael Bradley‘s superb chipped pass to half the Belgian lead and make it 2-1 with less than 10 minutes to go in extra time.

This kid is going to be some player.

Watch a clip of his first-ever goal for the USA below.

Should have been starting for Jozy the moment he got hurt. Risky? Absolutely! But what do you have to lose being the US soccer team. We need more athletes. Honestly if you told me this team has played soccer their entire lives the way they possessed the ball in this tournament I would have had my doubts.

As someone on Twitter pointed out, the kid didn’t even stop to celebrate, just grabbed the ball to bring it back to the center circle.

      It’s almost like he’s a professional….
(every team that’s behind does that. welcome to footy, hope you stick around now that the US is out)
