On Monday the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) confirmed that the U.S. national team are heading to the Emerald Isle this fall.
In a brief statement on their website the FAI stated that the match will take place on Tuesday November 18 at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. Previously there were rumors that this game would be taking place, but official confirmation only arrived on Monday in what should be an eagerly anticipated match up in both nations.

The U.S. have squared off against Ireland on eight previous occasions in history, with a 2-4-2 record. LA Galaxy captain Robbie Keane is also Ireland’s skipper and the Irish are heading into a new era with Martin O’Neill as manager and Roy Keane as his assistant.
Here is confirmation from the FAI that Jurgen Klinsmann will take his squad to Ireland in November.
The Football Association of Ireland today (Monday) confirmed that its senior men’s team will play the USA in a Three International Friendly on Tuesday November 18 in Aviva Stadium.
Manager Jürgen Klinsmann will take his USA squad to Dublin following their dramatic run at the FIFA 2014 World Cup, where they emerged to the knockout stages from Group G after beating Ghana, and drawing with Portugal, falling to Belgium despite 16 record saves from goalkeeper Tim Howard during the game.
The fixture falls on November 18, four days after Martin O’Neill’s squad take on Scotland in Parkhead in a UEFA Euro 2016 Qualifier.
It is looking like a busy fall for the U.S. national team as a Sept. 3 friendly against the Czech Republic is already set up in Prague, while reports of a game against Colombia in San Antonio on Sept. 9 have also floated around. Also reportedly set up is a friendly against Ecuador on Oct. 14.
It seems likely that Klinsmann will call on a largely European based squad for the Ireland friendly as his Major League Soccer contingent will be wrapped up in the playoffs.
