Manchester United will aggressively pursue Real Madrid forward Angel Di Maria, offering a $170 million for the services of the talented footballer, says The Daily Mail.

Manager Louis Van Gaal has told chief executive Ed Woodward to go all-in on Di Maria, which would include $350,000-a-week and initial transfer fee of $83.2 million.

The Argentine himself has expressed surprise at the fact that this deal would outbid any other team wanting his signature, including French giant Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United didn’t start their season off on the right foot, losing to Swansea City, 2-1, and van Gaal was clearly upset by the defeat, stating that his squad needs ‘better players.

Well that would be a very, very challenging some for even a team with coffers as big as Real Madrid’s to say no to. Especially for a guy who might have been had for £35M just a season ago.

seriously guess they are desperate to sign someone after all the misses. only ever seen him in world cup. he did nothing special like a player costing this much should. I don t watch Italy or spain football don’t like the rolling faking injury. or the monkey sounds when black player touch the ball.

I think the price is high and this is still just a rumor (till the transfer is complete)… That said, I don’t care how much it costs to bring him in. Ownership isn’t hurting for $£$£$£. It doesn’t make sense if your Man Utd to let / miss out on Di Maria going elsewhere for only a few million. Get the GD DEAL DONE WOODWARD

When the Daily Mail is the source, you have to wonder about the validity of the rumor. Not saying ManU isn’t trying to get him, but that number seems way too high.

I’m not only a huge fan of Di Maria, I’ve been supporting the club where he started his career back in Argentina…Rosario Central, el ” Canalla” , but, I think 170 million is just an absurd amount of money…
How much are guys like Massi, Ibra, Suarez etc. worth then..???
    Crazy…

I do hope this one goes through. That would be wasting money on a Tottenhamesque scale.
