USMNT midfielder Jermaine Jones was introduced to the media in New England today, and fielded questions on everything from his decision process to whether he considered going elsewhere.

Jones, who turns 33 in November, turned heads at the World Cup this summer with relentless play and a brilliant goal against Portugal.

He was tipped to head to Chicago and even Retweeted posts advocating his move there, but New England said they were ‘in’ on Jones as soon as his Stateside move was mentioned to them.

And now, he looks to move his club into the playoffs, and says he could play as soon as this weekend against Toronto. The Revs are one point out of the playoffs but could draw even with No. 4 Columbus by winning their match-in-hand.

“It’s only 10 games, but… I can give something back and try to give everything in trying to make the playoffs.”

“I like to win and I will try everything I can to get to win.”

Jones said Major League Soccer was on his radar even before the World Cup.  He’s been capped 46 times for the USMNT, scoring three goals. Before last season’s move to Besiktas, Jones had spent most of his career in Germany. He played for Schalke, Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt aside from a loan stint to Blackburn Rovers in England.

Jones is a pricey addition, illustrated well by Ben Jata’s fun fact below:
