With help from Sweden, England took first place in Group D after their … umm, patient? … performance against Ukraine, sending the co-hosts out of Euro 2012.

Credit to Sweden, already eliminated when they walked on the field in Donetsk, Ukraine. But the Swedes reached deep, played for the flag and sent France reeling into the quarterfinals with zilch for confidence.
